The answer is 'Pong'. The simple, table tennis-like 2D game is credited with blazing the trail for the video games we enjoy today. It was the first commercially successful arcade game, and its popularity convinced Atari to make a home version – Home Pong - in 1975. Two years later the first Atari console, the 2600, would go on sale and we've never looked back.
